How Funded Sports Betting Works
At FBMO, funded sports betting is a simulation-based evaluation process.
You pay a one-time Challenge Fee, complete two phases using a simulated account, and follow fixed progress, risk and activity rules. If you pass both phases and satisfy the Funded Account admission criteria, you can access a simulated Funded Account.
When the Funded Account payout conditions are met, an eligible payout request generates a real-cash Reward equal to 80% of the amount requested.
FBMO does not give you a real-money sportsbook bankroll and no real-money wager is placed through FBMO. Challenge Fees are non-refundable except where a valid statutory withdrawal right applies before activation.
The FBMO Process in 5 Steps
1. Choose a Challenge
Select the simulated account size you want and pay the one-time Challenge Fee shown at checkout.
2. Pass Phase 1
Build 10% progress while staying inside the risk rules and completing the minimum activity requirements.
3. Pass Phase 2
Reach the same 10% target again under the same core framework, but with a stricter Consistency Cap. Phase 2 has no additional fee.
4. Satisfy Funded Account admission
Passing both phases is required, but admission also depends on eligibility, rule compliance and the aggregate Simulated Account Size limit.
5. Meet the payout conditions
The Funded Account remains simulated. Once you become eligible to submit a payout request, the resulting real-cash Reward equals 80% of the amount requested.
What Does “Funded” Mean at FBMO?
At FBMO, “funded” does not mean that FBMO transfers a cash bankroll to you or opens a sportsbook wallet in your name.
The Challenge account is simulated. The Funded Account is also simulated.
Picks use virtual points, and theoretical results are calculated by reference to publicly available odds from independent third-party sportsbooks. No real money is wagered through FBMO.
The real-money part of the model is the Reward paid under the Funded Account Programme when the payout conditions are satisfied.
What is simulated and what is real money
| Item | Simulated or real money? |
|---|---|
| Challenge account balance | Simulated |
| Funded Account balance | Simulated |
| Picks, stakes and platform profit/loss | Simulated (virtual points priced from third-party odds) |
| Challenge Fee you pay | Real money |
| Reward on an eligible payout request | Real money (80% of the amount requested) |
The headline account size is a nominal simulated amount, not cash deposited for you to wager.
Worked Example: How a $10,000 FBMO Challenge Works
This example uses a $10,000 nominal simulated account and the percentages in the current Terms. It does not include the Challenge Fee. The fee and account parameters confirmed at checkout are the binding terms for your Order.
Phase 1
Starting simulated balance: $10,000
Profit Target: 10% = $1,000 of progress
Maximum Drawdown: 10% = $1,000
The simulated balance must not fall below $9,000.
Daily Loss Limit: 5% = $500
Gross settled losses in one UTC day must not exceed $500. Wins that settle the same day do not reduce this loss total.
Stake range: 0.5% to 2% = $50 to $200 per pick
Activity and time rules:
- at least 30 Valid Bets;
- at least 5 Trading Days;
- minimum decimal odds of 1.50;
- completion within 45 calendar days after activation.
Phase 1 Consistency Cap:
A single winning Valid Bet can contribute at most $150 of progress toward the $1,000 target.
Phase 2
The Profit Target remains $1,000 and the same risk, activity, odds, stake and time rules apply.
The difference is the stricter Phase 2 Consistency Cap:
A single winning Valid Bet can contribute at most $100 of progress toward the target.
One winning pick, in numbers
A $200 stake at decimal odds of 2.00 that wins adds $200 to the simulated balance, but only $150 to Phase 1 progress ($100 in Phase 2).
Because of the cap, even with no losing picks you need at least 7 winning Valid Bets to reach $1,000 of progress in Phase 1 (7 × $150 = $1,050) and at least 10 in Phase 2 (10 × $100 = $1,000). Losing picks deduct their full loss from progress.
Why this matters
A large winning pick does not by itself pass the Challenge.
The evaluation measures whether you can reach the target while also respecting risk and demonstrating enough activity over time.
The Three Rule Layers That Decide Whether You Pass
The FBMO Challenge evaluates three layers at the same time. Meeting one layer does not offset a failure in another.
Layer 1: Progress
The target is 10% of the Phase Opening Balance.
Winning Valid Bets add progress, subject to the Consistency Cap: 1.5% of the Phase Opening Balance per winning bet in Phase 1 and 1.0% in Phase 2.
Losing bets deduct their full loss from progress.
Layer 2: Risk
Two Risk Rules operate independently:
Your simulated balance must not fall below 90% of the fixed Phase Opening Balance. This is a net calculation: wins and losses are netted against each other.
Gross settled losses in one UTC calendar day must not exceed 5% of the Phase Opening Balance. Winning bets do not offset losses for this calculation, and open bets count only on the UTC day they settle.
Breaching either Risk Rule causes immediate phase failure, regardless of progress.
Layer 3: Passing requirements
Once you reach the Profit Target, you must also have:
- at least 30 Valid Bets;
- at least 5 Trading Days.
A Valid Bet is a pick settled as Won or Lost; Void, Cancelled and Pending picks do not count. A Trading Day is a UTC calendar day on which you place at least one Valid Bet.
Every pick must also use a stake between 0.5% and 2% of the nominal account size and decimal odds of at least 1.50. The phase must be passed within 45 calendar days after activation and without any Prohibited Practice.
Activation and completion are separate clocks
Each phase must be activated within 45 calendar days after access is made available. Activation happens when you place the first simulated bet.
If a phase is not activated within that window, access is suspended and the Challenge Fee is forfeited. You can submit a written reinstatement request to support@fbmo.net within six months of the suspension.
Once activated, a separate 45-day completion window begins. That makes a maximum of 90 calendar days per phase from the date access is granted.
Passing Phase 1 gives access to Phase 2 at no additional charge.
What Happens After You Pass Phase 2?
Passing both phases does not convert the simulated Challenge balance into money and does not automatically guarantee admission.
After Phase 2, you are invited to apply for the Funded Account Programme. Under the Terms, FBMO may decline admission only where:
- admission would cause your aggregate Simulated Account Size to exceed $200,000;
- FBMO has reasonable grounds to believe you used Prohibited Practices; or
- you do not satisfy the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Before activating the Funded Account, FBMO may require basic identity verification, including government-issued photo ID and proof of address.
What changes on the Funded Account?
The account remains simulated and has the same nominal size as the Challenge you passed. Its opening balance becomes the initial Baseline for payouts.
The following continue to apply:
- 10% Maximum Drawdown, measured against the fixed nominal account size (not the Baseline);
- 5% Daily Loss Limit;
- 0.5% minimum stake;
- 2% maximum stake;
- 1.50 minimum decimal odds.
The Challenge Consistency Cap no longer applies.
How the Real-Cash Reward Cycle Works
The Funded Account balance remains simulated. The Reward is real cash.
First payout eligibility
You can submit your first payout request when all of these conditions are satisfied:
- the Net Simulated Balance exceeds the Baseline by at least 10% of the nominal Simulated Account Size;
- at least 30 Valid Bets are completed;
- at least 14 Trading Days are completed;
- there are no unsettled open picks;
- there is no other payout request still pending.
What does the 80% mean?
When an eligible payout request is submitted:
- 100% of the requested amount is deducted from the simulated balance;
- the Baseline resets to the simulated balance after that deduction;
- FBMO generates a monetary Reward equal to 80% of the amount requested.
Worked payout example
Start: a $10,000 Funded Account with a $10,000 Baseline.
Before the request, all of these are true:
- the Net Simulated Balance is $11,000, which is exactly the minimum first-payout condition ($10,000 Baseline + 10% of the $10,000 nominal size);
- at least 30 Valid Bets are completed;
- at least 14 Trading Days are completed;
- no picks are open and unsettled;
- no earlier payout request is pending;
- for this illustrative example, assume the applicable minimum payout threshold in force at the time is also satisfied.
A payout request for $1,000 is submitted:
| Step | Result |
|---|---|
| Amount deducted from the simulated balance on submission | $1,000 |
| Simulated balance after deduction | $10,000 |
| New Baseline | $10,000 |
| Real-cash Reward (80% of $1,000) | $800 |
| Maximum Drawdown floor | Still $9,000 (90% of the $10,000 nominal size) |
The $800 is paid after the request is reviewed and approved, subject to identity verification and sanctions screening. Reaching $11,000 on its own is not enough: every condition in the list above must be met.
A later request starts from the new $10,000 Baseline and also needs 14 calendar days since this request and 20 new Valid Bets.
This example explains the calculation only. It is not a promise of performance, payout eligibility or future results.
Later payout requests
After the first processed payout, later requests require:
- the Net Simulated Balance to exceed the current Baseline;
- at least 14 calendar days since the immediately preceding payout request;
- at least 20 new Valid Bets since that request;
- no unsettled open picks;
- no other payout request pending.
Processing, methods and checks
A minimum payout threshold applies. Check FBMO’s current published amount before requesting a payout.
Approved requests are processed within 72 hours of approval, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Cayman Islands public holidays.
Payment methods can include bank transfer, PayPal, cryptocurrency and Razorpay in eligible jurisdictions, subject to availability and compliance requirements.
Every payout request is reviewed. Full identity verification is required before the first payout, and sanctions screening applies to every request.
If FBMO rejects a request on reasonable grounds of Prohibited Practices, the deducted amount is not returned and the Baseline reset is not reversed, unless an appeal under the Terms succeeds.
What Happens If You Fail?
There are two different situations.
If you fail a Challenge phase
A phase fails because of a Risk Rule breach, expiry of the 45-day completion window, a Prohibited Practice or another material breach.
The displayed simulated balance is not a debt you owe.
However, the Challenge Fee is not refunded because the Challenge failed.
To start again, you need to purchase a new Challenge.
If a Funded Account fails
Breaching either Funded Account Risk Rule causes immediate Funded Account failure, and the failed account cannot be reinstated. To continue, you purchase a new Challenge.
If the failure is due to a Risk Rule breach, a Reward balance that had already accrued and was eligible for payout before the breach can still be claimed, but the payout request must be made within 30 calendar days of the failure notice.
If termination or failure is due to a Prohibited Practice or material breach, accrued Reward balances are forfeited, subject to the appeals process in the Terms.
FBMO may also terminate a Funded Account after 30 consecutive calendar days without a Valid Bet. In that case, any eligible Reward balance accrued before the inactivity period is paid within 30 calendar days of the termination notice.
What to Check Before You Start
Eligibility
FBMO is available only to users who satisfy the current eligibility requirements.
You must be at least 18 years old, or any higher minimum age required where you live.
FBMO currently restricts 23 U.S. states, comprehensively sanctioned jurisdictions and any other location where providing the service would be unlawful or would require an approval FBMO does not hold.
Check the current list of Restricted Jurisdictions before paying. Do not use a VPN or proxy to bypass geographic restrictions.
Supported sports
The current Terms allow simulated picks on:
- Soccer (Association Football);
- Basketball;
- Tennis.
Combination bets are supported: combined decimal odds must be at least 1.50, the stake follows the same 0.5%–2% limits, and each combination counts as one Valid Bet.
Automated tools
Bots, scripts, algorithms, AI tools, betting calculators and other automated or semi-automated means used to analyse, select or place simulated bets require FBMO’s prior written consent.
Fee risk
The Challenge Fee is payment for access to the evaluation, not a deposit.
It is non-refundable except where a valid statutory withdrawal right applies and is exercised within 14 days and before activation. Placing your first simulated bet activates the Challenge and ends that right.
Funded Sports Betting FAQ
Is the balance in a funded sports betting account real money?
At FBMO, no. The Challenge balance and the Funded Account balance are both simulated and use virtual points. The real money in the process is the one-time Challenge Fee you pay and any Reward FBMO pays on an eligible payout request.
What am I paying for when I buy an FBMO Challenge?
You are paying a one-time Challenge Fee for access to the simulated evaluation. The fee does not become part of the account balance and is not money used to place a real wager.
Can one big winning pick pass the Challenge?
No. In Phase 1 a single winning Valid Bet counts for at most 1.5% of the opening balance toward the 10% target, and at most 1.0% in Phase 2. On a $10,000 account that means at least 7 winning picks in Phase 1 and 10 in Phase 2 even with no losses, plus 30 Valid Bets and 5 Trading Days per phase.
How long does the FBMO process take?
It depends on your activity, so there is no fixed duration. Each phase must be activated within 45 calendar days after access is made available, then passed within 45 calendar days after activation with at least 5 Trading Days. On the Funded Account, a first payout request also requires at least 14 Trading Days and 30 Valid Bets.
Does passing Phase 2 guarantee a Funded Account?
No. Passing both phases is required, but FBMO may decline admission if it would take your aggregate Simulated Account Size above $200,000, if there are reasonable grounds to believe Prohibited Practices were used, or if you do not meet the eligibility criteria at the time of admission.
Can I use AI or a betting calculator?
Only with FBMO’s prior written consent. Without that consent, the Terms prohibit AI tools, betting calculators, bots, scripts, algorithms and similar automated or semi-automated means used to analyse, select or place simulated bets.
